North Fork Cache La Poudre Bank Mitigation

The North Fork Cache La Poudre River Mitigation Bank Project, located in Livermore, Colorado, was focused on developing 30 acres of wetland and lengthening the stretch of river running through it. This project addressed not only the wetlands but also an incised river and landowner access through the conservation easement.

FlyWater, inc. began this large mitigation project in January 2026. Working in a phased approach to divide the project into manageable sized areas our team was able to develop the roughly 30 acres of new wetland. To accomplish this FlyWater, inc. moved 70,000 cubic yards of material to lower the surrounding banks and benches while also raising the bed elevation. FlyWater, inc. also realigned a mile of the river and increased the habitat and function of the river to improve overall health. In addition to the mass excavation and river work, FlyWater, inc. also installed approximately 9000 linear feet of new wildlife friendly fence and gates. Working closely with the client and the landowner, FlyWater, inc. was able to accomplish all project goals and keep it on schedule and within budget. River and mass excavation was completed in April 2026 with property fencing and revegetation efforts continuing into summer of 2026
