Mosquito Creek Diversion and Headgate Replacement Project

FlyWater, inc. was hired by the CCWCD (Center of Colorado Water Conservancy District) to remove and replace a concrete headwall and headgate as well as rebuild the existing diversion structure in August of 2025.

FlyWater, inc. diverted the creek and performed a fish salvage to rescue any trapped fish in the dewatered channel. With the channel diverted the existing structure was demolished and replaced on a stable subgrade. After the new headwall was poured and headgate was installed, the diversion structure was replaced in a way that made fish passage easier than what was previously there while achieving the correct amount of flow to the pipeline. FlyWater, inc. worked closely with the engineer to help with any discovery and troubleshoot any issues.
